Read Woke Challenge 2020-21

This fall I have decided to partake in the Read for Change: Read Woke Challenge through my library system in Lincoln, NE. This challenge requires for us to read books that challenge social norms, give a voice to the voiceless, elevate the disenfranchised, and follow protagonist from an underrepresented or oppressed group.

The goal is to read a novel from at least 5 of the 10 categories (Black Voices; Asian American Voices; Diverse Abilities; Female Voices; Hispanic American Voices; Immigration; LGBTQIA+ Voices; Native American Voices; Mental Health; Poverty & Homelessness; Inclusion & Acceptance), and to complete 5 additional activities that deal with many of these subjects.

I highly recommend checking out your local library to see if they are participating in this challenge and taking the opportunity to participate.
