In the past few months I have come to really love and enjoy books by Christina Lauren. These novels are usually funny, uplifting, and never stray into topics that are too serious. Reading these novels is like coming home on a long day and getting into you favorite sweats before you snuggle up with a cup of tea and a good book. In essence they are a thing of comfort.

Given all this, I was actually surprised when I finished Twice in a Blue Moon. This book is still a love story though it lacks a lot of the sarcasm and humor that is always present in a Christina Lauren book; however, the story of Tate and Sam is absolutely beautiful. Where this novel drops the humor of its predecessors, it makes it up by developing characters with depth and giving them real obstacles and challenges to overcome.
The story challenges us to consider if making the wrong choice for the right reasons deserves love and forgiveness. This is a beautifully written novel about listening, understanding, and fighting for what is important because opportunities may not come twice in life.
If you are looking for an emotionally powerful book, which still has the warmth and charm of a typical Christina Lauren book then I highly recommend Twice in a Blue Moon.

During a whirlwind two-week vacation abroad, Sam and Tate fell for each other in only the way that first loves do: sharing all of their hopes, dreams, and deepest secrets along the way. Sam was the first, and only, person that Tate—the long-lost daughter of one of the world’s biggest film stars—ever revealed her identity to. So when it became clear her trust was misplaced, her world shattered for good.
