I already thought Michelle Obama was a rockstar but after reading 𝙱𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚐, I have a new level of respect and appreciation for her.

For this read, I decided to pair my e-book copy with the audiobook...because who best to tell the story than Michelle herself...boy did that combo make for a phenomenal experience.

This book hooked me from page one. I felt her struggles, I rooted for her love, I cried during her loses, and I cheered for her victories.

Their marriage often look effortless and yet it is no surprise to find that it wasn’t. Their relationship took work and commitment. It’s not easy being thrown into a world of politics where people, including your own, attack you constantly and even go as far as to use race to hurt you.

Nevertheless, this amazing woman continues to persevere and work alongside Barack to continue to push for necessary change in America.

I highly recommend this read. As a BIPOC woman, I felt nothing but pride and empowerment while I read this book.
